Interesting information about the project
Scandinavia is one of the destinations where we regularly deliver our tanks. This market is unique – harsh climate, low temperatures, high humidity, and an aggressive coastal environment mean that only truly solid constructions can perform well in such conditions. And when we talk about solidity, we talk about Ekonstal.
That is why we designed a steel, aboveground, double-wall, multi-compartment tank with a total capacity of 55 m³, a diameter of 2500 mm, and a length of approx. 13 m. It was manufactured for a customer in Norway and is perfectly suited for fueling truck fleets, construction machinery – wherever the safe and reliable storage of different media matters most.
Five compartments – full functionality in one construction
The tank is divided into five independent chambers, allowing for the storage of different substances essential for fueling vehicles and machinery:
- petrol – 2 × 10 m³
- diesel – 20 m³ + 10 m³
- AdBlue – 5 m³
Special attention was given to the AdBlue chamber. Since this medium is highly sensitive to low temperatures, the chamber was built as fully insulated and equipped with a heating system. Mineral wool insulation, aluzinc cladding, heating cables on pipelines, and an additional stainless steel heater inside the chamber ensure that AdBlue maintains its properties even during freezing winters.
Materials and anti-corrosion protection
The tank body was made of certified carbon steel S235JR. All surfaces were prepared by shot blasting, ensuring maximum adhesion of protective coatings.
The external surface was coated with an epoxy layer in corrosion class C5, intended for the most demanding environments with very high corrosion risk. The internal surfaces were protected with Temaline TL, a coating resistant to the stored substances.
Safety and equipment
For maximum safety, the tank is equipped with the SGB DL 280 leak detection system, which continuously monitors the interstitial space and immediately alerts in case of leakage.
Each chamber is fitted with a complete set of standard stainless steel nozzles and pipelines, ensuring durability even in harsh environmental conditions. At the client’s request, the tank was also equipped with an electrical cabinet and pumps. On-site, the construction was complemented with a service platform with railings and a ladder, ensuring convenient and safe access to the manholes.
Built for tough conditions
This project proves that our tanks meet the requirements even in places where the climate leaves no room for error. Robust steel, top-class anti-corrosion coatings, an insulated AdBlue chamber, and safety systems make this tank a long-term solution – ready to serve reliably for many years, regardless of the weather conditions.
