Pressure tank 108 m³ – project for a client from Germany

As part of cooperation with a client from Germany, we designed and manufactured a vertical pressure tank with a capacity of 108 m³, intended for operation in a technological installation using a water–glycol solution. This project is another example of a realization in which a steel pressure tank was fully adapted to the client’s requirements and applicable European standards.

The tank was manufactured as a single-wall pressure tank, designed to operate at a working pressure of 8 bar. The structure was made of P355GH steel, commonly used in industrial steel tanks due to its high strength and durability.
The tank dimensions – a diameter of 3.9 m and a total height of over 12 m – required precise design preparation, detailed calculations, and experience in the production of large industrial tanks.

Safety, functionality and tank equipment

When designing this pressure tank, particular emphasis was placed on operational safety and easy service access. The tank was equipped with:

  • an access manhole,
  • a service platform as well as ladders and safety railings (installed at the tank location),
  • flanged connection nozzles enabling safe and tight connection of pipelines.

The tank was installed on a so-called skirt, i.e. a base made of stainless steel, equipped with an anchoring ring with mounting holes, ensuring stable and safe fixing of the structure to the foundation.

The tank was factory-prepared for the later installation of thermal insulation, which will be carried out by the client independently. The external surface of the tank was properly protected and primed for insulation, and all elements protruding beyond the insulation outline were painted in RAL 7035.

Pressure tank compliant with EU standards

The tank was manufactured in accordance with the requirements of the Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU and AD 2000 guidelines. The design takes into account multiple start-up and shutdown cycles, which is essential for long-term and safe operation.

The completed pressure tank underwent inspection by a notified body and was CE marked, confirming its compliance with European quality and safety standards.
