Interesting information about the project
Steel tanks equipped with a covered platform for dispensers are usually used for commercial fuel distribution. This is not their only purpose. They are also suitable when an efficient and reliable solution is needed to supply a company’s own fleet, to refuel agricultural machinery and tractors on large-scale farms or to support building or road construction projects.
The unquestionable advantages of fuel tanks with platform and roof are their mobility (the method of their installation makes it possible to change their location should it be necessary), their compact size compared to a standard fixed fuel station and their adaptability to any situation.
Flexibility in storage and access to fuel
We manufactured this large cylindrical mobile fuel station for a customer from Norway. It is to be used as an important part of the industrial infrastructure. The main objective of this project was to increase efficiency and productivity, which was to be achieved, for example, by ensuring quick access to fuel without the need to find external stations and the resulting reduction in downtime.
The design of the station takes into account the different needs of the users. Owing to its location in an industrial area, these will be passenger cars as well as trucks, tractors or other specialised machinery used, for example, in construction.
Product characteristics:
- Five-chamber double-walled tank with a total capacity of 70,000 litres.
- It allows to store and distribute five different substances: diesel (25 m3 chamber), coloured diesel (15 m3 chamber), petrol (15 m3 chamber), HVO or biofuel for diesel vehicles (10 m3 chamber) and AdBlue (5 m3 chamber).
- It has a large covered platform, 2 m wide and no less than 4 m long, with a place for fuel dispensers.
- The platform is equipped with overhead lighting to create comfortable refuelling conditions regardless of the time of day.
- The AdBlue chamber and the piping leading to it have been insulated to protect the liquid from crystallisation that could occur due to changes in temperature.
- An SGB leak detection system is installed. It is intended to guarantee safety and protect the environment by quickly detecting and warning about any leaks.
Aesthetic finish, integration into the environment
The most important feature of fuel tanks is always their durability, strength and tightness. If it is an above-ground tank, their external appearance can impact the overall image of the surroundings, especially if it is located in a public place or close to residential areas. We painted this tank and its integrated platform according to the customer’s request in a dark graphite colour. This ensures that the tank fits into the surrounding area and its architecture. The insulation layer used for the AdBlue chamber and the piping leading to it has a bright, contrasting steel colour, which creates a visually interesting effect of the whole structure.
