Buffer Tanks – Specification
Buffer tanks play a key role in industrial installations as elements that stabilize the operation of the entire system. Their function is to store the medium and balance the differences between its production and momentary demand. In practice, they act as a safety buffer, absorbing surpluses and releasing them during periods of increased demand.
As a result, the installation operates in a more predictable and efficient manner. Buffer tanks reduce fluctuations in pressure, temperature, and flow, protect equipment from excessive wear, and improve the overall energy efficiency of the system. In industrial applications, they are essential wherever process stability and operational reliability are critical.
Our portfolio of projects for international markets has been expanded with another implementation – 6 vertical buffer tanks, each with a capacity of 36 m³, designed for operation in an industrial installation requiring stabilization of medium parameters. Each vertical tank was designed and manufactured from high-quality S235JR and P355GH materials, ensuring durability and safe operation.
Technical parameters of the tanks:
- Quantity: 6 units
- Unit capacity: 36 m³
- Diameter: 3500 mm
- Total height: approx. 4320 mm
- Operating pressure: up to 9 bar
- Operating temperature: up to +60°C
Corrosion protection and workmanship quality
The external surface of the tanks was prepared in accordance with the AGI Q151 standard, by sandblasting and double coating. This solution increases corrosion resistance and extends the service life of the equipment.
Tank equipment
Each buffer tank is equipped with:
- manhole DN 500
- connection nozzles 1/2″ and 2″
- side outlet and vent
- flanged nozzles DN 450 PN10 with elbow pipes
- perforated plates supporting medium flow
- lifting lugs for handling the empty tank
- cylindrical bottoms
- installation on a stable base with a support ring (skirt)
As standard, all tanks underwent leak testing and were provided with nameplates and technical documentation, including factory acceptance certificates in German.
